The New Masjid e Aysha Project
We are embarking on an ambitious and much-needed journey — The New Masjid e Aysha Project.
Our goal is to create a modern, open-plan, purpose-built Masjid that will:
- Accommodate our expanding congregation
- Provide suitable facilities for worship, education, and community activities
- Nurture faith and inspire future generations — especially our children
Our Journey So Far
The management committee took the initiative in 2007, and by the grace of Almighty Allah (SWT), successfully secured the adjoining premises to allow for expansion and reconstruction of the ageing structure.
After years of perseverance, planning permission was granted in 2019, and a new ablution area was completed by the end of that year. Unfortunately, progress was significantly delayed due to the COVID-19 lockdowns, which brought construction to a halt. Alhamdulillah, the management has since obtained renewed permission from the local council to recommence the project, paving the way for the construction of a purpose-built, three-storey Masjid.
Why Now?
After more than 15 years of gradual expansion, the available land between the house and the adjoining back garden has been fully utilised. The limitations of the current building mean that:
- The Masjid is regularly over capacity, even with two Jumu'ah prayers every Friday
- Worshippers are frequently forced to pray outdoors, regardless of weather conditions
- Sisters are often unable to attend due to severely limited prayer space
We are now more motivated than ever to take this essential step forward and, Insha'Allah, grow as a Masjid and as a unified community.
Your contribution will directly accelerate our ability to build facilities that meet today's needs and fulfil our vision for tomorrow — transforming Jamia Masjid e Aysha into a true beacon of faith, learning, and hope.
